NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING TO BE HELD AT RIVERSIDE SPORTS CLUB ON MONDAY 12th MAY 2025 at 17H30.

11. Election of Office Bearers:
11.1 Nominations are called for the office of: ‘Chairman’ and ‘Deputy Chairman’ for a one-year term.
The following are the present incumbents:
Chairman: Mr Dave Wright has advised that he is available for re-election as Chairman.
Deputy Chairman: Mr Malcolm Kennedy has advised that he is available for re-election as Deputy Chairman.
11.2 Nominations are called for the office of ‘Treasurer’ for a one-year term.
Treasurer: Mr. Martin Baker has advised that he is available for re-election as Treasurer.
11.3 Additional Member –Ms Janine Wilmers having been elected for two terms in 2024, is available to serve out the remaining term.
Additional member – Michael Botha having been elected for two terms in 2024 is available to serve out the remaining term.
Please note that all Committee nominations must be in writing, giving the full names of the proposer and seconder and include a written acceptance of the nomination by the nominee on the attached form.
Nominations for the positions referred to above must be lodged with the club manager gm@riversidesports.co.za no later than Tuesday 6th May 2025 at 9am.
12. Proposed Constitutional Change
Notice is hereby given of the Club Executive Committee proposal to amend the constitution as follows:
Clause 17. General Meetings
17.1 Annual General Meeting: To read as follows
A general meeting of members shall be held preferably on the Clubs premises before the end of June (was in April) of each calendar year. The business to be conducted at such general meetings shall be.
Point of Clarity: The new wording is identical in every aspect to the old wording except that the words “before the end of June” shall replace the words “in April”.
Motivation: With the club sections completing their membership administration only by the end of the first quarter of each year, the change will facilitate the completion and finalization of the sport section membership commitments to the main club in time for the Annual General Meeting.
Clause 19. Colours: To read as follows
The colours of the club sub-sections shall be determined by the sub-sections in consultation and conjunction with the executive committee.
Point of clarity: Each club section has an individual history which is reflected in their club colours.
Motivation: This change removes the prescription to the sub sections to include red, green and gold which are no longer relevant to the club’s current status.
