Riverside Harriers Running Club
Riverside Harriers running club was started in 1987, as (Glenwood Harriers) and operates in the Durban North area, from Riverside Sports Club, Radar Drive (next to Golden Hours School). The club caters for beginners, social runners, the more serious runner as well as walkers. The walkers walk the same times as the runners and the club caters for serious and more casual walkers. Our annual subscription fees are R815 – this includes an ASA number and makes you a member of Riverside Sports as well.
The club has many members who have earned Green Numbers in Comrades, and still very actively participate in running, as well as the administration side of the sport.
CLUB RUNS
Wednesday: time trial (5.1km & 8km) @ 17h00
Weekends: Regular weekend club runs are also arranged.
Members are awarded at the annual prize-giving for running or walking 20 or more time trials in a year.
CLUB COLOURS
Black shorts, with a yellow, white and red vest (available from us).
SOCIALS
- Braai every first Wednesday of the month, after time trial.
- Valentines Time Trial.
- Annual Pub Run!
- Pre and Post-Comrades events.
- Weekends away – e.g. Post Comrades camping at St Lucia, Mtunzini run.
- Spring Handicap Time Trial.
- Year-end function and prize giving.
