Riverside Football Club
History
Founded in 1975, Riverside Football Club began as the soccer section of Glenwood High School Old Boys Club. Starting in the lowest league of the Natal FA, the club steadily climbed the ranks, reaching Division 1 by 1983. Key milestones included promotion to the Natal League in 1985, winning the Natal League Cup in 1991, and achieving second place in the same league.
Throughout the 80s and early 90s, Riverside fostered a strong club spirit. Notable events included Troye Bingham’s 1987 selection for the Natal U19 team and the first team’s management by Trevor Mussell, leading to the 1991 cup victory.
In 1992, the club joined the Southern Natal FA Premier League, leveraging its excellent facilities and experienced coach. This marked a new chapter in Riverside’s history, paving the way for further growth and success.
Fast forward to 2023, Riverside has undergone a successful reconstitution, adopting a fresh new leadership, logo, and branding. Looking ahead, the club is poised to continue its rich legacy in the years to come.

We’ve been dominating the Greater Durban Local Football Association (formerly Durban Central Football Association) for years, with our teams consistently clinching titles and top positions across various age groups.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned baller, we have a place for you! Our professional coaching staff takes a personalised approach, tailoring training to unlock your full potential. Boys and girls, all are welcome to join our inclusive community and share the beautiful game.
